monday 30th of june. the start of a new block . and it already sucks.

taking 2 freaking modules this block. its starting to get crazy i guess. hmm 2D art fund,our first lesson was lousy? yeah well the teacher so far seems a like a up tight guy. i was like ronald.. ronald. but he din respond. i tried one more time .RONALD... then he was like dont call me by my first name. address me as MR ronald .i'm ur lecturer not your friend. oh man what a bitch. even mosses our director insists that we call him by his first name. plus he talks in this extremely monotonous tone, till the extend that after he repeated himself like 4 times he repeated himself again using his fingers to count the tasks which we were suppose to do.

next was .... space planning . well it was a rather fast lesson. guess we are already used to suhan's teaching . well i learned something quite important. the phrase "why not?!" why not in the sense like to do some thing out of the ordinary. ah whatever lar. i just think its good to start doing it again , after i came to tp i figured messing around and playing around the guide lines wassent such a good idea because like...EVERY THING i DO AFFECTS MY GRADES? but oh well its design. no restrictions.

next seeing ban soon. haven chosen my elective. ohO. "i can help u . the system has closed.but u can wait for subject add drop. if u miss it again .you have no more chances already" so dumb i cant believe i missed the subject selections. really fucked up man.

okay that was school.
went out with JY and amber for dinner again today. it was a typical outing with those two. LAME as usual. but its quite fun to bully jy. kinda learn it from amber! HAHAHA
after that amber and me called ariz out to like chill at bucks. omg i got bombarded upside down by that ariz, accompanied by amber. well everyone got suaned. but i think my was the worst . the funny thing is that they cant seem to make up their mind .

okay very excited about my room design . going to draft out the design. hopefully i get it done by tonight.i keep procrastinating.

yay finally got a drumset. haven got a photo yet thought. its like sleek black finish with black hardware. but its not really setup yet..well not until the room is done up it wont be. haha so excited about it. finally the band will have our own private studio! now. i got no space to put my pedal board.thats another reason i cant wait for the room to be done up.okay i need to neaten up the chaotic room. cant stand the mess.matt thinks i'm compulsive. ah whatever.

okay finally taking my break. so so so so so tired. matt's right i think i'm inhuman. i'm still awake from yesterdays "i'm not going to sleep for the next 2 days and 2 nights!"okay i must survive.
drafting is a killer man. draw and draw to the point its painful to look at the paper.

coffee here i come! one day and one night down. one more to go!

tmr after submission i shall go shopping for a drumset!

A LITTLE PIECE OF HEAVEN

Today was a relatively short and boring day. i told myself i would wake up EARLY to finish drafting the design for my room which my mum has been forcing me to faster complete.

anyw last night when i manage to finally sleep earlier. at like 130am. my damn phone rang at 2am. irritating messages. disrupting my sleep! **************
okay i still got up early at like 830am.
i got up but i coulden get out of bed . i was like so freaking exhausted.yeah but i manage to get up at 9am. then i was like slacking around. thinking if i should get my design drafts done.

well i guess i got lazy. so i went back to sleep!

i woke up around like 3 plus. to....GO TO SCHOOL! i hate taking the bus. when i got to school . it seemed that my class missed me. hahahaha

i submitted my mc and went drawing pen shopping . and cabbed home.

when i got home i fell asleep AGAIN!

okay told u was boring. anyw i gotta finish my damn final assignment. so many dumb drawings to do .

wow today was like super weird. i was suppose to go to school today although i'm like still sick. (ya i know its damn long) it just keeps coming back . like i'll feel okay already then next i'll be fevering again. really sucks. ANYW. yeah i was suppose to go to school today. when i received a call quite early in the morning. okay it was not. hahaha but i was still sleeping. guess who?! my teacher! so i answered. she was like :

suhan:are you okay justyn?
me:not so good.
suhan :do you have an mc for today?
me: no..but i'm coming today dont worry.
suhan:hmmm wads wrong with you what did the doctor say?
me: the doctor thinks i'm having a viral infection.
suhan:okay are u feeling better today?
me:not really,but i'll be in school today dont worry!
suhan: no no no. dont come to school today.
me: there's no class today?
suhan: yes there is . but dont come to school and spread your virus around.i'll send you your assignment brif.
me: oh. okay then
suhan :bye.take care.

yeah.well it was both good and bad. i felt so bored again at home.thats the bad.but the good is i dont have to go to school .ha

NEXT : i got my pay check. okay it wassent as much as i expected .but it was close so any it'll help to pay for the drum kit.so yeah not so bad.. its not even a 4 figure lar. so pathetic.short about 50 bucks to make it a thousand. yeah .boring day.hope tmr will be better!

wow todays a DAMN FREAKING LONG DAY! last night was hardly any shuteye, just kept coughing and coughing...so i was trying to sooth the cough with some nice ice cold beer.okay it did'n work.but well i tired!i finally fell asleep around maybe around five?

RECORDING:
it felt like a half and hour of sleep when matthew messsaged at 6.59am and kept calling at 7.40am! so i had no choice but to get up.slowly staggered out of bed showered and TRY to find a million and one things early in the morning.The worst part is that i have to bring my own amp. which is dumb.FULL RECORDING facilities but they dont have guitar or bass amps. (SAE studio1)

finally joalin and matt were at my place at about 9 in the morning.Luckly my dad fetched us there OR ELSE! 2 options,taking MRT and walking with a GIANT pedal board,guitar,amp and a ubber big bag./taking a taxi which is going to cost about 20 bucks?

okay okay.so we loaded the car. we looked like we were going on a super long holiday. the car boot was packed to the brim.

finding the studio was another story. the place was like super out of the way can!

IN STUDIO:
when we reached the building.joshua called.
josh"where is it ah?"
me" oh u at bugis already?"
josh "no lar, i waiting for the mrt"
me" U JUST LEFT UR HOUSE?!?!?!?!"
...
...it goes on.

THE SAE building was like WOW man.i imagined this like tall BUT old building. in the end , i saw a 3 story shophouse which looked ancent.
but it was okay lar. joe told us not to expect anything.

inside they had like many flights of stair which REALLY HELPED when i was the one pulling the pedal board!

SETTING UP:
when we got into the studio .the first thing i noticed was a REALLY tiny drumset.so i tired it .wow i knew joshua would hate the kick even before he came!
okay some photos of the setting up process, joa was playing with my camera:

in the mean while the tech crew was still setting up the recording equiptments i went down to find the rest of the band who had disapeared to find joshua. when i got downstairs they reapeared! hahaha matt the genius was like i think the lift goes diractly to 3rd floor studio. IT DIN! anyw whatever lar. it was just a lift ride.

when we got back they were still setting up and in the mean while we hand some practice jams with matt and me in the control room while joa and josh in the live room. weird uh.okay we where all hooked up to headphones. while the techs were leveling all the mics we were jamming! hahahaha

we did a guide track and joshua's drum tracks first. damn the place was so cold + the fever i was like shivering and my fingers were frozen! the guide track was a joke! it was super hard on the ears with my blaring notes and matt's (zhao sia) vocals.
other then that, joshua was the most solid a perfect track on the first take expcept at the ending crash...he ...WELL....hit the overhead mic's more than the cymbles. hahahaha

RETAKE!
second take was perfect.no mistakes at all. but he din really have much fills (josh:HAHAHA I SCARED MAKE MISTAKES!)
next up was the bass track. by then i was stoning at the connor of the room messaging.
Joa 's track took abit longer than joshua's. having to do a few punch ins .and quite a few takes.

NEXT (everyone:"JUSTYN UR TURN!")
okay okay i went into the room they were mic-ing my amp and i was testing the sound. mentally i went like : volume padel flat volume knobs full but why no sound. BUT the amp wassent turned on! HAHAHA joke...it gets funnier! AMPLIFIER ON! hmmm why still no sound. no one realized my guitar wassent plugged in! LOL

RECORDING TIME! wow this took long so i got comfortable sitting in the connor next to the drum platform.the first few times. wow the timing was AMAZINGLY HORRIBLE! it was so bad we had to use a metanome.hahahaha
after doing the entire song a few times practicing and recording. we had some techinical errors where the tempo was like one bar ahead.so RETAKE! omg...
well that happend a few times including the re-recordings for the punch ins at the bridge and the second verse. but overall it sounded okay after that. i wanted to re -do like one part where i played ONE wrong note.but everyone say there wasen a wrong note.but i was VERY sure i played that note wrong. oh well.

i thought i took very long until we saw matthew. by then joshua had to run!

MATTHEW'S TAKE:
i guessed he was tired after all the waiting and all.but HEY MATT U STILL SOUNDED GREAT!
first time in my life i hear matt (zhao sia) not to mention so many times in one day.but he was awsom! we had a few takes than some punch ins, then they deicided to re-do the whole thing and blah blah blah. i wassent paying attention. i was like feeling SO SICK MAN!

after matt's tracks were nearly done the next group had already arrived for their booking. anyw we took that oppotunity to EAT! we were so damn hungry.

MAKAN!:
so...we went to the kopitiam which was like down the road. there i learned that bugis area has alot of ...hmmm transvestides?

AFTER EATING..we all felt so much better by then it was already about 5.15pm? so long man.
joa was defenately sleepy after eating. hahaha we went back to the studio and slack on the floor in the control room while waiting for the other group.

UNFORTUNATELY...when they were done. it was 15 mins to 6 and that place closed at 6 on saturdays. we coulden contiune the vocals backup tracks. and had to start coiling cables. u should have seen the mess we made.so much for the sign on the door "be professional ,keep ur stuff neat"

finally made our way down stairs . wenqi(our sound engineer for the day) was like. "here cannot flag cab,they wont stop one!"
then freddy the other guy helping her in the studio went and stick his hand out and within like 5 seconds after she made that statement a cab haulted infront of us! hahaha we loaded the taxi with all our gear and were about to get on the cab it was then charmaine called. apparently she was accross the cross junction down the road. so we waited for her to run here. lucky the taxi uncle was a very friendly guy.but he started the meter ...so much for mr nice guy.

when she arrived we all got on the cab and scooted .to my place.the ride back was like super dead except for me and matt yapping away . charmaine seemed stoned/pissed /irritated. we she now these days seem perpetually pissed/irritated. wonder what matt has been doing to her.

and when the cab stopped below my block! the taxi driver got 24 dollars richer. omg..taxies these days are expensive man.

luckly my brother was awake to help me open the door. (din bring the keys) and my parents suddenly left for malaysia this afternoon only will be back tomorrow.

SENDED THE GUYS OFF and when i got home i literally collaps onto the sofa and knocked out. so tired. and just woke up. 0.0

now i feel like so disorientated and cant even lift my arm properlly.alright thats the end i shall go and unpack all the equiptment!
